What we learned
- The three-quarter band broke, and it broke on the cash half. 52.5 against 46.94, 46.42 and 50.80 behind it, from a 16.49% free-cash-flow margin on top of 36% revenue growth — not from the growth term.
- Which free cash flow you use moves the score, and here the house number is the larger one. DoorDash called $742M of its $944M operating cash flow free; on our definition — operating cash flow less purchases of property and equipment — the score comes out higher , and we will restate it when the 10-Q gives the…
- The full-year outlook carries a cash warning the headline does not. DoorDash expects a negative $700M–$800M free-cash-flow impact in 2026 from merchant payment timing. It never touches adjusted EBITDA, and it lands squarely on the half of the score that just cleared the band.
- Adjusted EBITDA rose 40% and GAAP net income fell 30% in the same quarter. Full-year stock-based compensation of $1.2–1.3B and D&A of $1.1–1.2B are the distance between them.
- The guide decelerates hard from what was just delivered. Q3 Marketplace GOV of $33.0–34.0B against the $33.1B just printed is roughly flat, after 36% growth — which is why the shares fell after hours on a revenue beat.
