Unity Software Inc. · Q2 2026 call
What the CEO argued
Bromberg's argument was that Unity has stopped being a turnaround and should now be read as a compounding platform. He drew a line under two years of repair — "we're done looking backwards" — and spent the call describing a flywheel in which cheaper game creation puts more games on Unity's authoring platform, more games make discovery harder, and harder discovery feeds the ad business that Vector now leads. The evidence he offered for it was Vector beating its own plan by almost double (23% sequential against a 12–13% expectation), passing a $1 billion run rate two quarters early, and, for the first time in the company's history, drawing signals from the Unity runtime — the roughly 3 billion monthly players he treats as the structural advantage Meta gets from owning its own apps. He was deliberately dismissive of the engine as a product surface: the application layer is "the surface piece", and what matters is how many creators end up inside the platform that monetises them.
