Q2 2026 Jul 22, 2026 Musk spent the call on one trade: Tesla is deliberately buying growth with capital, and he would rather overspend than move slowly — "it's okay to be a little less capital efficient if we get things done sooner." He called it the fastest industrial scale-up in America since the Second World War. The demand argument was that customers are now buying the software and taking the car with it, and the constraint on Robotaxi is reliability rather than demand — the "march of nines."
