Tesla's August in Europe Was +52.7% or +4.0%. The UK Decides Which

ACEA's August release has Tesla at +52.7% in the EU and +4.0% with EFTA and the UK. The gap is 2,883 Teslas there against 6,612 a year ago, -56%.

ACEA's 24 September release carries two Tesla August registration counts. EU table: 12,547 against 8,219, +52.7%. EU + EFTA + UK table: 15,430 against 14,831, +4.0%. Both are correct; only the second includes the UK. The EU figure is the one that circulated.

Subtract one table from the other and EFTA plus the UK is left: 15,430 − 12,547 = 2,883 Teslas this August, against 14,831 − 8,219 = 6,612 last, -56.4%. Those markets did not shrink. UK registrations rose 13.7%, EFTA's fell 1.5%, and battery-electric cars across both went from 39,015 to 46,721. Tesla's share of them fell from 16.9% to 6.2%.

A soft base does not explain it. August 2025 held 6,612 of 48,181 EFTA+UK Teslas through August, 13.7%, near an even eighth. This August held 2,883 of 49,622, 5.8%. January to July ran +12.4%, so the year's +3.0% is one weak month. ACEA does not split Tesla by country, so which market lost the cars stays open.

Registrations are not deliveries. Tesla's quarter ended today; its global count, due within days, supersedes any monthly reading.
